Algonquin Park

We just spent a week in Algonquin camping. It was a week filled with adventure, challenges and new experiences. We enjoyed...

...a trip to the Algonquin gallery

...some painting on canvas, experimenting with watercolours and of course tie-dying

....many, many, bike rides through the forest

...the challenges of starting a fire with wet wood (and no stove...long story)

...a hike on the Lookout Trail

...a view that took my breath away and caused me to squeeze the life out of my children's hands

...interesting attire

...learning a new skill and enjoying new found freedom

...visiting with good friends

...dancing in the woods

...and sleep after a long hard day!

Camping with Shack

In July we went for a two night camping trip with some friends that Heinrich used to work with. We went to Lake of Two Rivers which is a campground within Algonquin. We had a great time. Mickey loved having their little boy Tyler along. She loved looking after him. We made lots of goodies including smores and muffins in oranges. The muffins baked in the empty orange peels were fun but they need to be dried out first. They took forever!! We did a few canoe outings and were thrilled to spot a moose on our drive home!
